End-of-lease cleaning checklist (handover)

Kitchen

• Degrease the oven, hood and hobs; replace the grease filter (paper or charcoal)
• Defrost and clean the fridge and freezer, including air vents
• Clean the dishwasher: filters, baskets and rubber seals
• Descale sink, taps and aerators; clean cupboard interiors and runners

Bathroom & WC

• Descale tiles, splashbacks, bathtub, shower and basin
• Descale nozzles, hose and shower head; replace faulty parts
• Clean the WC (including the inner rim), bathroom cabinet and mirror
• Clean traps and the ventilation grille, change the filter

Floors, walls & ceilings

• Dust walls and ceilings; wash washable paints
• Neatly fill screw and nail holes (never toothpaste), remove stickers, hooks and plugs
• Shampoo carpets, wash sealed parquet and tiles, remove all adhesive traces

Windows, blinds & shutters

• Wash windows on all four faces (double glazing)
• Clean sills, channels, frames and secure the seals
• Clean blind and shutter slats, polish fittings and cranks
• Grease locks, hinges and pivots

Exterior & annexes

• Balcony / terrace: remove moss and unclog drains
• Cellar, attic and loft cleaned and emptied
• Garage / parking space: remove oil stains
• Letterbox and doorbell: remove labels and name
